the artwork around artwork: explore three decades of exhibition posters
With their new publication ‘Some Posters from the NGV’ the National Gallery of Victoria invites you into the art world of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

If you're still reeling from last weekend's Art Book Fair at the NGV, the gallery can offer you considerable comedown support in the form of their newest publication Some Posters from the NGV. Editor Megan Patty worked with award-winning designer Stuart Geddes to select their favourite 90 posters from the institution's extensive archives.
The chosen works bridge the 60s to 80s and provide a colourful shortcut through Australian and International art, as well as the history of the gallery. Prepare for some serious FOMO over shows such as 1968's Design in Scandinavia, Gilbert and George's 1974 appearance and 1972's Surrealism exhibition.
We hope our parents appreciated the goods for us.
