georgia graham is taking over
Chatting to the down to earth Sydney model about her life and loves.
Georgia wears Miu Miu jacket, skirt and jumper worn around the waist
Georgia Graham is a statuesque beauty from Sydney who's attracting the attention of top designers and casting agents around the planet. At almost six feet tall with huge, piercingly-blue eyes, she walked in Chanel's infamous 'supermarket' show and was recently asked to feature in a Jacquemus campaign in Paris - a job which saw her spend an entire weekend exploring the suburbs and playing in the rain with the label's designer, Simon Porte and their photographer Bertrand. She's smart and versatile and ready to take over.
Where are you based most of the year?
At the moment in Sydney but I have a chronic case of itchy feet so New York is the next adventure.
What's the craziest thing you've ever been asked to do in the name of modelling?
For Jacquemus I had to climb down onto a motorway and stand there topless!
Yikes! What music do you have on high rotation right now?
I spent my youth telling my dad his music was woefully uncool and now I secretly love it all. T.Rex, Blondie, the Cure, that stuff. I also love electronic music.
What's the most amazing show you've ever been involved in?
I was so lucky to walk the iconic Chanel supermarket show in February. Woolworths has never been the same since.
Who are the models you like to hang with when you're working?
I especially love all the Sydney girls. I went to an all-girls boarding school for five years so being backstage sometimes feels a bit like that! Only the make-up is applied by professionals, rather than the haphazard attempts of a bunch of teenage girls.
Who's your favourite supermodel from the 80s?
I love Christy Turlington because I think she is a very inspiring woman. Nadja Auermann is also a total babe, plus I imagine she has similar problems to me in buying jeans that are long enough.
Heels or flats?
Flats! I'm a giant so brogues are where it's at.
Books or movies?
Books. I have an e-Reader. Badass, I know.
What do you love most about Sydney?
The beaches and the fact that you're never more than 50 yards from an avocado.
What do you love most about weekends?
The beaches and the fact that you're never more than 50 yards from an avocado!
What's your hobby?
Going to the beach and eating avocado!
Do you collect anything?
If I say 'memories' is that too cheesy?
