lily-rose depp hits the runway for chanel
Karl Lagerfeld's new muse starred in Chanel's Métiers d'Art show in Paris last night.
After casually stealing the spotlight as a surprise Chanel show guest last year and landing a fragrance campaign just a few months later, it was only a matter of time before Lily-Rose Depp walked a legit fashion runway show for the brand. That happened last night at Chanel's 13th Métiers d'Art show at the Ritz Paris — where Coco Chanel famously lived for over 30 years, and where a suite in her name still remains. The show hence marked a homecoming of sorts for the house that has previously jetted models off to Shanghai, Rome, and Dallas to celebrate the craftsmanship of its artisans. It's difficult to think of a more perfect runway debut for the French-born teen scion of 90s Chanel face Vanessa Paradis.
Lily-Rose wore two looks last night, first appearing in a black tulle gown and matching veil before closing the show in a gold sequin skirt and crop top. She wasn't the only Chanel family favourite to appear on the runway either. The rest of the cast included Pharrell, seven-year-old Hudson Kroenig, and longtime Lagerfeld muse Cara Delevingne, who made her first runway appearance since walking Chanel's Spring 2016 show last year. Unfortunately Chanel ambassador Willow Smith didn't make an appearance as a model — though she did soundtrack a celebratory Chanel cocktail event the night prior.
