Eagle-eyed Londoners might have noticed flyers linking Aphex Twin and Field Day hanging about the city over the past few days. As the weekend festival condenses itself into a singular Saturday of awesome (3 June) for the first time next year, organisers have enlisted the very brilliant Aphex Twin to headline in what will be not just his only festival performance of the year, but his first UK show in almost ten years.

In the wake of the release of his recent Cheetah EP, Aphex Twin aka Richard D. James will play the festival's brand new indoor stage, The Barn, a hanger like construction that'll descend on Victoria Park and bring with it all of the audio-visual tech magic you could want for a concert with such a man. Field Day co-founder Tom Baker, clearly a fan, promises us "a phenomenal, mind blowing, mesmerisingly, fantastic two hours of absolute genius". And on that note, we're off to listen to his greatest hits.

Field Day tickets will go on sale Thursday 1 Dec from 9AM.
