Peter Schelsinger came to fame as artist David Hockney's lover and muse in the 1970s, but it's his 28 years of work as a sculptor that's being brought to the fore in a new Acne Studios monograph. As well as creating a beautiful book—complete with photos by Schlesinger's partner, Eric Boman—Acne has designed some irresistibly louche loungewear: silk pajamas, shorts and dressing gowns covered in prints by Creative Director Jonny Johansson.

The pair met through collaborations for Acne Paper, and are full of mutual admiration. "The collaboration with Jonny has been inspiring on many levels," Schlesinger says. "His free spirit has opened up possibilities and directions I would not necessarily have found. It is creativity at its most generous."

Johansson added, "Peter is both a great friend of mine and also someone whose work I have admired for a long time. He is honest in everything he does, creating work that is both brutal and fragile, tribal and sophisticated, historical and modern, all at the same time."

Peter Schlesinger Sculpture and capsule collection will be launched exclusively on April 29 on acnestudios.com and in five Acne Studios stores: Greene Street in New York, Eastern Columbia Building in Los Angeles, Dover Street in London, Quai Voltaire in Paris and Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm.
