Today in “Headlines I Never Thought I’d Write”, here’s something -- Billie Eilish, wunderkind turned veritable superstar, has revealed that she wrote and recorded the new theme song for upcoming James Bond film No Time To Die.

The official James Bond Twitter account confirmed the news this afternoon, sending the site into an absolute spiral of Gen Z and boomers collectively saying “wait, what?” Honestly, it was a rare moment of intergenerational unity.

Not much is known about the song, except that it was written by the Bad Guy singer and her frequent collaborator, brother Finneas O’Connell. And it also -- this is neat -- makes Billie, who recently turned 18, the youngest ever musician to perform a Bond film theme song.

Fans had speculated on Billie’s involvement in the franchise after she posted eight photos of iconic bond girls through the years on her IG story. And Cary Fukunaga, director of the upcoming 25th installment in the franchise, recently followed the singer and Finneas on Instagram.

“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way,” Billie said in a statement. “To be able to score the theme song to a film that’s part of such a legendary series is a huge honour.” She then added, and we’re not so sure about this part, “James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist.”

Guess your dad was right about that one after all.
