Sky Ferreira and Paris Hilton have made an OnlyFans slasher
Here’s everything we know about the movie, produced Ashley Benson of 'Pretty Little Liars’ and titled '18 & Over'.
Just when you thought the era of the quarantine movie had come to an end — think Malcolm & Marie and Anne Hathaway’s Locked Down — it’s been announced that a new one is in the works. Enter 18 & Over, a new pandemmy-inspired slasher-horror produced by and starring Pretty Little Liars’ Ashley Benson. What’s more, she’s gathered a wild cast to join her on the journey, including Paris Hilton and Sky Ferreira.
Produced by Benson and co-created with filmmakers Jimmy Giannopoulos and Diomedes Raul Bermudez, 18 & Over uses the pandemic and quarantine as a backdrop to what filmmakers have called “a night of terror”. It’s the sophomore feature from Jimmy, who last directed a Brooklyn mob thriller called The Birthday Cake that Ashley co-starred in.
“After deciding to shoot this film in the middle of the pandemic, we wanted to make something that would be fun but still a terrifying slasher for audiences during these tough times,” Jimmy told Deadline. “A film relevant to today’s issues of a global pandemic, reality shows, isolation, OnlyFans, and obsession.”
What’s more, the show’s cast list seems frankly wild. Alongside Paris (who has a history with horror thanks to 2005’s House of Wax) and Sky (who similarly appeared in horrors like The Green Inferno and Lords of Chaos), icons like Pamela Anderson and Winnie Harlow are slated to appear. From the music world, A$AP Nast and G Eazy have been recruited, with the latter responsible for crafting its score — a first for the rapper.
Little else has been revealed about the project, but we imagine if the film was shot ‘in the middle of the pandemic’ that it’s going to kick off pretty soon. Are we excited to see Paris Hilton flex her iconic acting chops again? Hyped to see Sky Ferreira give us something, even if that something isn’t Masochism? Sky’s long-awaited second album has been in the works since 2015, but is yet to materialise. In the meantime, she’s drip-fed songs through projects she’s worked on like Baby Driver. While we know she’s itching to release some more Masochism music, we’ll take her in horror movie mode any day! Let’s hope we get to see the shenanigans of 18 & Over before the year is out.
