When Kanye West came up with the concept for his recent Famous video, he was clearly going for controversy. In a clip that featured lookalikes of George Bush, Donald Trump, Caitlyn Jenner, Amber Rose, Chris Brown and Rihanna naked in bed together, the pairing of Taylor Swift and Kanye still managed to be the most divisive. Considering the song is home to the line "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that bitch famous" it's not a surprise he'd use the clip as a chance to push the envelope a little further.

While many have praised the rapper's Vincent Desiderio inspired statement on fame and voyeurism, calling it The Last Supper for the Twitter generation, not everyone is a fan. In a statement on her Facebook page, Girls creator Lena Dunham (and member of Taylor's 'squad') expressed her very pained feelings over the clip.

Drawing comparisons between the video and snuff films, the Stanford rape case and the sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby she writes, "Now I have to see the prone, unconscious, waxy bodies of famous women, twisted like they've been drugged and chucked aside at a rager? It gives me such a sickening sense of dis-ease."

Pointing out that she's hardly a prude, she has a long and documented history of praising and partaking in nudity as a form of artistic expression, she says that while she knows it's "art's job is to make us think in ways that aren't always tidy or comfortable" to her, this feels different. She goes on to mention that she truly respects Kanye West and usually enjoys his work, but she just can't get behind a clip that "feels informed and inspired by the aspects of our culture that make women feel unsafe even in their own beds, in their own bodies."
