'I've never voted, I never will'. Ignore what Russell Brand says, your vote is important. It's time to cast aside the stereotype of Britain's apathetic youth and exercise your democratic right. In the last election there were almost as many non-voters under 40 as their were Conservative voters in total. Today's youth need representation! Talk to your friends about what makes you want to vote, whether it's education, the diminishing welfare state, climate change, immigration, or the fact that you are paying £800 a month to live in a shoebox. Then practise your crosses and get down to the polling station on May 7th. Even if you choose to spoil your ballot paper, make your voice heard!

The registration deadline is today, Monday 20th April.
