PARTYNAUSEOUS, a track recorded by Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga in 2012 but never released, has been leaked online. The duo recorded the track for Lamar's 2012 good kid, m.A.A.d city album, with both artists promoting the track as part of the album and potentially as a single before it was canned.

So why was it binned? In a comment posted on her fan site, Little Monsters, Gaga explained that she, "was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to [her] music". Who knows exactly what those musical changes were, but considering the crazy eurodisco version Gaga has been using in her live set, maybe Lamar's people had a point:

The leaked track on Soundcloud is a lot more chilled out, with a relatively slow snare beat, rounded, bouncy synths and slightly lackadaisical vocals. Gaga's vocal does sound modulated at points, so perhaps she wasn't into that.

The track hints at Notorious B.I.G. / 2Pac-style east coast / west coast beef, with Gaga singing both the line about being from the east herself and Lamar being from the west, with Lamar closing the tracking, rapping, "Nod if you want to be high with the enemy; … Nod if you want to make love with the enemy; Roll it up, baby, smoke it up 'til we're flyin'."

The lyrics form a heartfelt polemic about resisting violence and being big enough to love your enemy. "You call it gang violence, you call it livin' mad; I called it life, but now I'm like, 'I fuckin' hate it bad'," Lamar raps, adding, "Fuck what you heard, we been tired of doin' wrong; If you got the nerve to man up and kill a man; Then man up double time and shake that adversary's hand, bang." Considering the content of the lyrics, it's pretty ironic that the two artists couldn't reconcile their musical vision to get the track released.
