mouna ayoub holds major couture auction
In Paris, the Lebanese star is selling off everything from Dior to Dolce to raise money for two of her lifelong passions: fashion and cinema.
Mouna Ayoub's charity auction includes 3000 items of ready-to-wear and couture from the 1990s, including her favourites Christian Dior, Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Gianni Versace, John Galliano, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Valentino, Emilio Pucci and Alaïa. Among the major pieces, there's an impressive 70-piece-collection of Chanel luggage gathered between 1991 and 2010, as well as limited editions of Louis Vuitton bags and Hermès Kelly Bags.
The proceeds from the auction will go first to Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (supporting the upcoming exhibition Unbutton Fashion) and La Cinéfondation (created by Gilles Jacob, former President of Cannes Film Festival, which helps young filmmakers during the creation process). "I've always been fascinated by buttons," Ayoub told i-D. "I was blessed to be informed of this bold venture and I am more than happy to join. And I've cherished movies since very young and I won't miss Cannes for any reason. I would say that without cinema, I would be lost".
The sales will take place during four days from 30th January until 2nd February at The Cornette de Saint Cyr Auction House 6 avenue Hoche 75008 Paris.
