Mystery producer Knowsum knows something about mellow music. Hailing from the medieval German town of Mainz, we know little more than the fact that he is currently gearing up to release his impressive Play God and Shit Happens LP via Money $ex Records this December. Thoroughly cinematic and crying out to soundtrack your working day, the record is full of samples layered with relaxed guitar, muted vocals and glitchy production throughout - with a hint of funk thrown in for good measure. There's no second-guessing here; progressions are unpredictable and, knowing that nothing can really be controlled, he certainly doesn't attempt to rein things in.

Press play and let Knowsum takes your stress levels down several notches...

What was the first album you ever bought?
Bravo Smash Hits Vol. 38

Where do you go when the record ends and the lights come on?
Sometimes I go crazy.

Do you ever fall asleep to music? If so, what?
No, unfortunately not.

What's the best dream you've ever had?
I was on an Island where jazz was growing on trees.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained a new ability, what would it be?
The ability to read my mind.

What is the ultimate Sunday morning record?
Gabriel Garvanoff, Easy Piano

What movie do you think your music would best soundtrack?
Nonfilm by Quentin Dupieux

Finish the sentence: the music sounds better with…
The music sounds better without.

Knowsum's Play God And Shit Happens is out 15 December and available for pre-order now.
