basketball fever takes over london
We grabbed a chat with New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony at the NBA game.
The New York Knick's may have gone down 95-79 to the Milwaukee Bucks at the O2 in London last night, but their star player Carmelo Anthony was still happy to be back in the capital. "It's great to be back in London," he told us. "I was obviously here for the Olympics for a month and a half, and by the end felt very much a part of what was going on in the city. There's also that connection where Londoners and New Yorkers have a lot of similarities - coming back here to play basketball is always special for me."
He also told us his favourite thing about his new trainer, the Nike Melo 11. "There's nothing like seeing people rocking your sneakers. This is my 11th Brand Jordan shoe and I wanted to make a statement with the sneakerheads. I did lots of research with them with to find out what they wanted to see and feel. I love the New York inspired elements of the shoe as well as the fact that it's lightest one I've ever created."
The game is becoming an annual celeb love-in, with sports stars, singers and models all courtside. This year saw Jourdan Dunn, Idris Elba and Thierry Henry all turning up to show their love for the game.
