We've long been fans of Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci: for his work on the catwalk, his demeanor behind the scenes, and benevolent (and frequent) presence in our social media feeds. Insightful and affable in just the right amounts, the designer and i-D cover star is friends with everyone, and it's easy to see why from his recent chat with the Wall Street Journal, detailing his favorite things. The conversation illuminated more than Riccardo's favored possessions, and talk turned to masculinity, streetwear and the hallucinogenic brew ayahuasca . Here are i-D's top takeaways...

On his ideal dinner party...
"If I could invite six people to dinner, I'd ask: Frida Kahlo. Coco Chanel. Coccinelle -- the first [transgender] person in France. Gandhi. Marlene Dietrich. And Picasso."

On the advice he'd give his 20-year-old self...
"Calm down! Still, I wouldn't be here if I hadn't been crazy."

On the one wish he'd like to see granted...
"If I could be granted one wish, it would be to: meet my father. I have tried through tarot cards and mediums and it hasn't worked. A friend who moved to the jungle in Brazil just took ayahuasca, a plant some say makes you go into another dimension. I'm studying it as [another potential tool]."

On his most essential possession...
"A telephone. It's the most intelligent invention in history, and the smartphones have only made communication better. And I don't mean WhatsApp, I mean FaceTime. I need it in my life to talk to my family and see them five times a day."

On his favorite streetwear label...
"Supreme. They just opened a store in Paris on rue Barbette. I have a lot of favorites: my backpack and a checked swimsuit -- everyone makes fun of me for wearing it."
