fashion east taps grace wales bonner and charles jeffrey for spring/summer 16
The two emerging designers will present their collections during London Collections: Men at the ICA gallery.
Lulu Kennedy's pioneering emerging talent platform Fashion East has revealed that designers Grace Wales Bonner and Charles Jeffrey have been selected to present their spring/summer 16 collections during the London men's shows in June. Wales Bonner is returning to the showcase, having presented a bejeweled, sultry, seventies-inspired collection of textural, sea shell-adorned menswear - an exploration of black male representation titled Ebonics - for fall/winter 15 at Fashion East in January. Wales Bonner graduated from Central Saint Martins BA Fashion in May 2014, winning the L'Oréal Professionel Talent Award, and recently presented her collection at a V&A Fashion in Motion event.
Also a CSM graduate, Scottish designer and illustrator Charles Jeffrey is presenting for the first time under the Fashion East banner. Jeffrey graduated from the CSM fashion MA earlier this year, showing hand-painted denim and knitwear, asymmetric shirting and gathered high-waisted trousers in his final collection. He is inspired by the colorful artists, photographers and musicians who attend his monthly club gathering LOVERBOY.
Grace Wales Bonner and Charles Jeffrey will "take over" the ICA to present their spring/summer 16 collections next month.
