Can you introduce yourself, and tell us what you do?
I’m DJ Clark Kent. I am a husband, father, DJ, producer, brand consultant and sneaker enthusiast.
What have you been making the most of since the world reopened this summer?
When the world shut down, I lost a bunch of DJ work. Then about a month into the lockdown, I started doing nonstop virtual gigs. Then later in 2020, I was given a radio show on Apple Music. When things started to open up, I started doing open air gigs, and jumped right back into consulting a few brands! Things never got a chance to slow down, thank God.
What are you currently most grateful for?
Life. Being able to breathe is the reason I can do all that I’m doing.
How do you feel when you are wearing diamonds?
When I was young, I bought lots of gaudy jewellery. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more curated. Quality over quantity. Shooting with Mario was incredible and Alastair is the real deal. The process was super cool and very easy going. I’m not a big photoshoot guy, but they made it very fun.
What’s one piece of advice you always give that you never listen to yourself?
Take a moment to appreciate what you’ve done. I think it’s a smart thing to do, but I can’t seem to slow down to do it myself!
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I’ve wanted to be a DJ and a football player since I was nine.
And what do you want to be now?
I simply want to be a good and happy person.
And what are you doing tomorrow?
Finishing the design on one of the sneaker projects I’m working on, and DJing in Washington DC.
