A purple-haired fairy and Johnny Bravo walk into a studio session in LA. Sparks fly. Two and a half years later and not only are they still madly in love, but the two producers/songwriters are making quite an impression on the rest of the world too. HANA's synthy magic has led to tours with i-D favourites Grimes and Purity Ring, while BloodPop aka Mike has kept busy working with Bieber, Skrillex, Little Simz, Madonna, Grimes (the three of them are best buds), and Charli XCX. When not on tour, the dream team seem to have the ideal set-up; hanging out between studios with their adorable dog Eevee, making music together, and playing World of Warcraft. Solid proof that those who game together, stay together. With love in the air this February 14th, get to know music's new power couple... #relationshipgoals

How did you meet?
H:
We met in a session. We got together to work on some songs and never stopped hanging out. We were pretty immediately obsessed with one another.

Where did you go on your first date?
H:
Our relationship started as friends, then became something more, so it's hard to decipher what the first actual date was. Most likely sushi in Little Tokyo DTLA.

How long have you been together?
H: About 2.5 years. We met May 2013 and since we started hanging out non-stop since that moment. Mike likes to start counting in May, but I'd say more like August 2013.

What do you love most about your boo?
H: How smart, creative, funny, and hardworking he is. He brightens every single day. His work ethic really inspires me and pushes me.
M: Hana is probably the most positive, bright person I know. She's always the light in unpleasant situations and has a true love for living life. In fact sometimes she'll exclaim, "Ahh, I love life!"

Have you ever written a song about each other? Which one?
H: We once wrote a song called Valentine which is pretty cute. We've been pitching it but if no one takes it, maybe we'll just release it ourselves!

What's the most romantic thing you've ever done?
H: One day I came home from a tour on Valentine's Day to an apartment full of roses, the new Zelda 3DS game, and macarons. It was really romantic and sweet.
M: This last christmas Hana got me an illustrated portrait of the two of us with Eevee done by my favorite illustrator, Bryan Lee O'Malley.

What's your song?
H: The Japanese version of Chairlift's I Belong in Your Arms. We listened to that a lot when we first started dating.

What are you most proud of?
H: I'm proud of how much we've both accomplished together and separately since we've met each other. Since I met Mike, he's written for an insane roster of people, wrote/produced a #1 song, opened for Madonna and has a remix on a Grammy nominated album. I got my shit together and made something I'm truly very proud of, feel happy with my art and am getting to tour with Purity Ring and Grimes. If you had told me that 3 years ago, I would have cried.

How often do you work together?
H: We work together quite a bit. It just depends we're always in one another's studios and ask each other what they think of different ideas constantly. We try not to force it though, the best stuff comes from when we're just messing around.

In your opinion, what is the greatest love song of all time?
H: It's hard to say OF ALL TIME....but one of my absolute favourites is First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes. I used to cover it all the time.

What do you love most about Eevee?
H: She's the best thing to wake up to! It's almost embarrassing how much we love her. She makes us laugh all the time with her personality. She's really loving and cuddles with us in the morning and it's honestly the best way to start a day.

What's the best trip you've ever been on together?
H: One specific trip to Vancouver was really magical. It was in April. LA doesn't really have seasons and so I appreciated the springtime vibe there. We stayed in an adorable apartment across the street from a delicious smelling Indian food spot. We got samosas every day and Mike showed me his favourite places around the city. We visited the Game Design school he went to and met some of his professors and it was really fun to his face when he explained how much fun he had when he went there.

If your boo was a Pokémon, which would they be and why?
H: I see Mike as a Pyroar. He's such a Leo and definitely a fire type.
M: Hana is maybe Mesprit, I say maybe because Hana is definitely a fairy type. She would probably say Espeon or Sylveon.

Which fictional world do you wish you lived in?
H: Middle Earth, no doubt. Specifically Lothlórien .
M: Azeroth, specifically Dalaran City.

What're your plans for Valentine's Day?
H:
I'm on tour so I won't be home sadly. We usually have a very chill Valentine's though, with us chilling together watching a movie, building a gundam and eating yummy food.

Complete the sentence: Love is...
H: ...so many things that it's undefinable. It's magical, terrifying, beautiful, reckless and fun.
