The city's new mayor Sadiq Khan vowed to address London's declining club scene and has kept to his word, putting out an official call out on applications for the position of the capital's first Night Czar.

An advert for the role has been posted online, with a full description of what the job will entail. The ad explains that the Night Czar will be: "Working with the Mayor, the Night Time Commission, local authorities, businesses, the Metropolitan Police Service, Transport For London and other agencies, the Night Czar will create a vision for London as 24-hour city and a roadmap showing how the vision will be realised".

The description goes on to say, "London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to reflect London's diversity in all GLA appointments. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability".
