Following a performance in the back of a truck in his hometown last week, Kendrick drops the video for his infectious single King Kunta from his latest critically acclaimed album To Pimp A Butterfly.

Filmed in Instagram-ready 1:1 ratio, Director X takes the reigns filming Lamar around Compton. Kendrick returns to his throne dressed in simple white tee and baseball cap, and literally running the game by performing on top of the local mini-mart. The video is a glorious homage to classic hip-hop promos, complete with bright sun and backup baes, and his gang of friends performing the now trademark Kendrick hoedown.

Catch him at Wireless before he becomes mayor of Compton.
