dior will present its cruise collection on the french riviera
The house will not be showing in Los Angeles, as previously announced.
Remember when we reported that Raf Simons and Nicolas Ghesquière would both be spring breaking in California for their resort collections? Well, that fashion holiday of dreams is no longer a reality. WWD reported today that Dior is moving its cruise presentation back onto home soil. The house will show its cruise offering on the French Riviera on May 11, not in Los Angeles on May 9, as previously announced. According to WWD, the house has "seized on an opportunity it couldn't resist."
The new location is yet to be revealed, but Dior has confirmed that it is near Cannes. This means that the front row will still most likely be filled with actors — the Cannes Film Festival opens just two days later on May 13. But what about fashion world attendees? Keeping track of all the different resort show locations is confusing enough, let's just wait until editors actually have to fly between three different time zones in one week — from Seoul for Chanel on May 4 to Palm Springs for Louis Vuitton on May 6 to [insert location near Cannes] on May 11.
