kristen stewart to star in french fashion ghost story
The English language film will be set in France’s seedy fashion underworld.
Twilight star and face of Chanel Kristen Stewart will star in a "fashion ghost story" called Personal Shopper, set in "France's seedy fashion underworld" according to reports from the Cannes film festival. For the film, Stewart will be reunited with director Olivier Assayas, whose Clouds Of Sils Maria led her to become the first American actor to win the Best Actress award at the Cesars (the French Oscars). Stewart recently added her name to the list of Hollywood actors calling out sexism in the film industry.
The announcement of Personal Shopper seems to continue a trend for freaky fashion flicks, after Nicholas Winding Refn's recent announcement that he is making horror story The Neon Demon. The film follows aspiring model Jesse's (Elle Fanning) journey into the LA industry, where her youth and vitality are "devoured."
