donald trump’s least favorite nude portrait is getting a gallery show
Artist Illma Gore has received death threats over the notorious nude, which shows the GOP frontrunner like you've never seen (or wanted to see) him before.
President Barrack Obama might have found Illma Gore's painting of a naked Donald Trump rather hilarious, but some other people in 'merica are feeling some other type of way about the notorious nude. Titled Make America Great Again in reference to his campaign slogan, the painting depicts the GOP frontrunner with tiny genitals to match his tiny hands. It has resulted not only in Gore being banned from Facebook but in her receiving actual death threats from Trump trolls. However the work also found powerful allies in the form of Evan Rachel Wood, Cher, and most recently, London's Maddox Gallery. The Gallery will be exhibiting Make America Great Again from April 11.
"I cannot exhibit it in the USA due to censorship and also threats from Trump supporters to harm both myself and the artwork," Gore said in a statement from the gallery. Director James Nicholls added, "Some may be offended but others will see the humor in Gore's work."
Trump's genitals have made headlines over the last month following a jab from fellow Republican candidate Marco Rubio. "I don't understand why his hands are the size of someone who is five foot two," Rubio said of his opponent during a debate. "And you know what they say about men with small hands?" We do, we do. Interestingly though, this all went down a full month after Gore's nude started making the rounds on social media. Ironically, Trump's subsequent neurotic attempts to defend the size of his junk have made the portrait more a must-see than ever.
Also on view at Maddox Gallery are eyeball-cleansing works by Tyler Shields, Russell Young, and Bradley Theodore.
