As anyone who has ever purchased a bra will tell you, the world of lingerie can be pretty polarising. Thankfully we have the gang behind New Zealand-based lingerie label Lonely to keep things chill and comfortable. In the most recent instalment of their popular Lonely Girls Project they've called on pals and Girls co-stars Lena Dunham and Jemima Kirke

Shot by Zara Mirkin, the photos were captured in Dunham and Kirke's native New York, and show the pair casually hanging in a bathroom, outfitted in Lonely's unmistakably beautiful designs. Dunham has been a fan of the label for some time, and after posting a photo of herself rocking a Lonely set on Instagram (it clocked in at 101,000 likes FYI), it makes perfect sense for the star to be tapped as one of the project's latest muses.

Lonely founder Helene Morris started the Lonely Girls Project as a Tumblr page, with the intention of providing a contrast to the objectifying nature of typical lingerie campaigns. Instead, the Lonely Project features "candid portraits of inspiring young women in their natural environments wearing Lonely in their own way."

Previously, the Project has featured both high-profile and girl-next-door talents, including body positive hero Paloma Elsesser, and artist-extraordinaire Petra Collins. Dunham and Kirke couldn't be in better company — or underwear.
