Prada and Adidas have released a limited edition Superstar trainer
Take my money, tbh.
Ever since Prada and Adidas announced their collaboration earlier this month, we’ve been waiting with bated breath for the first drop from our new favourite fashion couple (the couples’ portmanteau, Pradidas, pretty much writes itself). And today’s announcement of a special limited edition Superstar sneaker and bowling bag provides our first look at the collaboration.
A perfect midpoint coming together of the Prada and Adidas aesthetics, the bag echoes both the fashion house’s iconic bowling bag shape and the Adidas staple gym bag. This is probably too nice to shove into your locker before spin class though. Made from calf leather, it bears the twinned logos of Prada and Adidas, and is presented in classic optic white with black detail.
And no piece sits at the perfect intersection of sport and fashion quite so effortlessly as the superstar trainer. Since its launch in 1969, the sneaker has become ubiquitous in the Adidas world, and now the emblematic shoe has got a Prada upgrade for its 50th anniversary, making a leap into the world of modern luxury.
They’re meant to be worn together, in the spirit of duality that inspired the collaboration and collection, so the upside is you can cop them as a duo. The downside is only 700 pieces of both footwear and accessories are available, numbered with a unique serial. So after dropping on 4 December, when they’re gone they’re gone. Or when they’re gone they’re showing up on Depop sold by a 15-year-old hypebeast for seventeen times the original price. So good luck!
