"She will bring out what is needed for this part." Also starring is Olympia Dukakis who plays Marlene Dietrich, Warwick's mentor, and Danny Glover, who takes on the role of Mansel Warwick, Dionne's father and manager. While not much else is confirmed, Dionne Warwick, who turned 75 in December, revealed that her team was in talks with New Jack City director Mario Van Peebles to take the helm.
Despite being on good terms in later life, when asked why UK national treasure and cupid to the masses Cilla Black was her musical nemesis, Warwick said "Because she stole my music!" -- referring to Black's rendition of Warwick's hit Anyone Who Had A Heart, which went to number one in the UK in 1964.
