R&B and pop music legend Dionne Warwick is to be paid tribute in the form of a new biopic, it was announced at Cannes today. Set during the 1960s, ex-Destiny's Child star LeToya Luckett is set to play the Walk On By songstress. While rumors circulated that Lady Gaga would play Warwick's "musical nemesis" Cilla Black, Gaga's publicist has since denied these claims.

"She is perfect and she has exactly the right look," the five-time Grammy award winner said of Luckett, who will also perform Warwick's songs for the soundtrack. "She will bring out what is needed for this part." Also starring is Olympia Dukakis who plays Marlene Dietrich, Warwick's mentor, and Danny Glover, who takes on the role of Mansel Warwick, Dionne's father and manager. While not much else is confirmed, Dionne Warwick, who turned 75 in December, revealed that her team was in talks with New Jack City director Mario Van Peebles to take the helm.

Despite being on good terms in later life, when asked why UK national treasure and cupid to the masses Cilla Black was her musical nemesis, Warwick said "Because she stole my music!" -- referring to Black's rendition of Warwick's hit Anyone Who Had A Heart, which went to number one in the UK in 1964.

With production not beginning until later this year, that's all we have for now, folks. But stay tuned.
