With just over one week to go until Carnival, we can thank Toddla T and his brand new off-beat banger "Always" for getting us ready to don our batty riders and bestest butterfly. Released via the Sheffield DJ and producer's brand new label Steeze, the arrival of Always coincides with Toddla's announcement of his own stage at next weekend's Bank Holiday street celebrations. Featuring the perfect patois of JA newcomer Silkki Wonda and the sublime vocals of Andrea Martin (known for writing many R&B classics including En Vogue's "Don't Let Go" and Angie Stone's "Wish I Didn't Miss You"), "Always" is reminiscent of a straight-up nineties Kingston classic. It's the first time the UK/US/JA trio have worked together; lets hope it's not the last.

"I was lucky enough to work with Andrea when I went to NY the other year," says Toddla of the track. "This is the first of our fruits of labor, just in time for Carnival. It features one of my favorite Jamaican artists at the moment — Silkki Wonda."

Press play and get ready to dutty wine all the way to next weekend.
