Ahead of the opening of Jeanne Lanvin (1867-1946), the highly anticipated Palais Galliera retrospective, and inspired by his own Israeli roots, Alber Elbaz's latest collection for Lanvin was a trip down memory lane. From rich patterns and shearling coats to the warm, spice-like colours, there were undertones of the exotic, while long leather gloves, chic black cloaks and wide-rimmed cloche-like hats added a sense of high drama. Tassels, fringing, and shimmering embellishment were in abundance, in true Lanvin style.
