While fans have been debating whether or not Princess Elsa from Frozen is queer, Pixar might have lapped Disney on the LGBTQ inclusion front. The latest trailer for their upcoming Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory appears to feature two mums with their child.

At about 1.06 minutes into the clip the women seem to be tending to a toddler, and the internet is pretty confident this blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment is a low-key shout out to lesbian parents. In 1997 Ellen Degeneres, who voices the titular Dory, broke media conventions when she came out on her sitcom Ellen. She was the first lead character to do so on American TV. With this in mind, the cameo would be a cool addition to a career of queer-media firsts.

While some have pointed out that the image could simply be two women standing next to each other, the enthusiastic reaction to the brief scene is evidence of how hungry people are to see diversity in entertainment. After all, the nuclear family stereotype fell apart decades ago in real life, so maybe it's time to dismantle it in kid's films too.
