hood by air’s latest collection is even more insane up close

The radical brand's spring/summer 17 lookbook reveals all the details you missed on the runway, and some you definitely didn't.

Hood by Air's PornHub-sponsored spring/summer 17 show featured plenty of surprises. Wolfgang Tillmans walked the runway, models wore Vaseline smeared over their face and hair to resemble "mischievous children who got into household accidents" (not everyone interpreted it this way), and the invitation resembled a sexed-up Babysitter's Club book cover. Did all that detract from the clothes? Slightly, but not because Shayne Oliver's latest collection wasn't incredible enough on its own. The proof is in the lookbook he's just dropped, which gives Hood by Air's rapidly expanding global fanbase the chance to behold some of the details they missed on the runway — and some they definitely didn't. Those bi-directional cowboy boots would easily have collected first prize for fashion month's most divisive footwear had Christopher Kane not shown Crocs a week later.

Elsewhere the images — and the humor — highlight Oliver's technical prowess and streetwear sensibility. Clever cut-outs and name tags reading "Hello my name is Wench" spice up (very) long-sleeved tees, functional zippered trousers, and shirting sure to please even the fanciest CEO of a high-traffic porn site. Check out more of the excellent collection below.
