ciara releases home-footage heavy video for 'i got you'
After launching her sixth studio album, Jackie, earlier this week, Ciara has now released a new video for album track I Got You. Speaking to i-D on the record's release date, Ciara told us that, "The song I Got You is very special to me. It's the song I've dedicated to my son. And I'm really proud of that."
The intimate film starts with smartphone footage shot by Ciara of her parents opening a small box with her pregnancy scans inside, before moving on to shots of her in the hospital with her newborn baby son, named Future after his rapper father, and then mum and baby playing at the piano, in the studio and in a swimming pool.
I Got You is a sweet ballad written by Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren, with an intro lullaby adapted by Ciara from Hush Little Baby, Don't You Cry, which she sings to soothe her son. It may be sweet, but the ATL beauty hasn't gone soft, singing on the new album's title track, "Man, I just delivered a nine-pound, 10-ounce baby. I'm a bad motherfucker".
