Last night, Queen of Selfies, Kim Kardashian, posted a picture of herself totally naked, with only two black bars (sort of) covering her not so private parts, and a caption that read: "When you're like I have nothing to wear LOL." Lol indeed. Naturally the internet broke, and over one million people decided to hit up the double tap. What is surprising, though, is the amount of negative, badly spelled and poorly punctuated screeds that have clogged up the comment section below. Now, when it comes to being a public figure, the wife of Kanye West, and the mother of a real life Saint, no less, trolling is all part of package, but when that trolling touches on wider issues relating to women's bodies, female sexuality and motherhood, and the censorship of all three, it's time to speak out.

From "Yo Kim c'mon your old and your a mom as well respect your self nobody need to see this" to "is her husband ok with this?" most of the comments revealed an alarming attitude towards women in general, most notably the idea that women who are mothers cannot present themselves in a sexual context, while wives should not be allowed to celebrate their bodies without asking the permission of their husbands, both of which are highly sexist and totally backward views. International Women's Day may be around the corner, but it's ever more apparent we need more than a day to sort out society's perception of women.
