legendary filmmaker fabien baron directs jennifer lawrence in new dior film
The film sees longtime Dior ambassador Jennifer Lawrence muse, 'Whenever I think of a feminist I think of a confident woman.'
Dior have shared their pre-fall campaign video, La Fille Américaine, a delightful tribute the to both the brand's Parisian heritage and its second home in Hollywood. The kitch, clever treat (and lesson in French) was directed by one of the industry's most legendary creatives, Fabien Baron; shining a light on one of America's youngest, brightest stars: Jennifer Lawrence.
In a behind the scenes clip, Jennifer says "It's a great experience wearing clothes that are designed by a woman who understands a woman's body," in reference to Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior's creative director. In the film, Jennifer wears Chiuri's We Should All be Feminists tee, first seen on the spring/summer 17 runway. "Whenever I think of a feminist I think of a confident woman," the actress continued.
Indeed, with a woman at the helm, Dior's profits have seen fantastic growth. In last five years alone, under the tenure of Raf Simons then Chiuri, the brand's revenue has doubled — and LVHM, key investor, took note. Last month after spending years as a sister brand Dior officially became a member of the luxury conglomerate, with LVHM buying back the shares of minority stakeholders in an an enormous $17.3 billion deal.
