bad blood might not be about who you think it’s about

With lyrics like "Still got scars on my back from your knife" and "You made a really deep cut", you'd be forgiven for thinking that Taylor Swift's hit song Bad Blood was about Katy Perry. After all, the video was based on the theme of feuding women and, as we all know, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have been embroiled in a feud for quite some time, after Katy reportedly stole some of Taylor's back up dancers. And if the rumour mill is to be believed, the songstresses have already been taking swipes at each other through their music (Katy's Superbowl performance featured girls in Taylor like polka dot bikinis, while one of Taylor's back up dancers brought a Katy like toy shark up on stage during one of her shows, then Katy waded in on Twitter with a comment about feminism when Taylor and Nicki were having their feud).

Plus Taylor actually told Rolling Stone that the song was about a girl, and not an ex. But according to a recent interview with Taylor Swift herself, we've been getting it all wrong. As she confessed to GQ, it's actually about an ex boyfriend. "You're in a Rolling Stone interview," she recalls, "and the writer says, 'Who is that song about? That sounds like a really intense moment from your life, and you sit there, and you know you're on good terms with your ex-boyfriend, and you don't want him—or his family—to think you're firing shots at him. So you say, 'That was about losing a friend.'" Sadly, the ex boyfriend she's referring to is still a mystery. Any guesses?
