i-D are back at the uk music video awards for 2019
We’ll be choosing which music video had the best styling over the past year.
Over the last 12 months, popstars have really turned it out when it comes to looks. Be it FKA Twigs’ bejewelled wonder in Cellophane, every outfit in Solange’s majestic When I Get Home, Rosalía stunting in the Aute Cuture video or Ariana Grande dripping luxury in 7 Rings, they haven’t taken their feet of our necks. But whose video had the best look? Well, that’s actually up to us.
In i-D’s ongoing partnership with the UK Music Video Awards, for the sixth time we’ll be judging the Best Styling in video category. Previous winners include last year’s recipients, Nick Royal and Emma Croft for Years & Years’ If You’re Over Me, Juliette Alleaume for The Blaze’s Territory (2017); Marni Senofonte for Beyoncé's Formation (2016); Mel Ottenberg for Rihanna's Bitch Better Have My Money (2015); and Nicola Formichetti for Brooke Candy's Opulence (2014).
Lent your hand at any styling on a music video in the past year? Well you could be eligible to join this hall of sartorial superstars. The films and videos submitted must be completed and delivered between the 1st of August, 2018 and the 31st of July, 2019. According to the MVA website, “the award is open to hair, make-up and/or wardrobe stylists and will be made to the stylist(s) responsible for the video”. The styling will be judged on the following criteria: artistic merit, quality of execution and creative contribution of the styling to the final video.
Think you could win? Why not enter RIGHT HERE. Deadlines for entries are 2 August 2019. We can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with!
