​jillian mercado stars in beyoncé’s new campaign

The model, disability activist, and all round i-D fave models Queen Bey’s latest merch.

Queen Bey has proved yet again why the whole world loves her, by casting Jillian Mercado in her latest campaign. Jillian, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, took to Instagram to share the exciting news. "So BEYond excited to finally announce that I'm on the official @beyonce website!!!" she wrote. "A special shout out to Queen Bee herself and the amazing team behind it." 

Dressed in an assortment of Beyoncé merch, - t-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, and caps, all emblazoned with song lyrics such as "Fresher Than You", "Slay", "Smack It" and "I Twirl On Them Haters" - Jillian joins fellow models Jennifer Jocelyn and Alayah Lee in the Daniel Avesco shot campaign. Of course, this isn't the first time Jillian has bagged herself a high profile campaign. In 2014, the IMG model starred in Diesel's first online-cast #dieselreeboot campaign, after being cherry picked by Nicola Formichetti, and has since starred in a couple of campaigns for Nordstrom. 

"For me, the most beautiful thing is confidence," she told i-D, "even if you're scared of the public seeing you, even when the world is against you. When people have that confidence and energy in them to keep going, no matter what, that's beautiful to me.'' We love you, Jillian!
