In a new interview with Billboard magazine, One Direction defector Zayn Malik has once again thrown shade over the music he made with his former bandmates. "We weren't allowed to say certain things, or word the way we would want to," he told Billboard. "I'd sit and wonder, 'If the fans knew how it worked, what would they think?' My argument was: People are more intelligent than that. "They want to hear what's real, so why don't we write some stuff that we're actually going through?" The ex boybander also revealed how he's had little contact with Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall, saying, "I had every intention of remaining friends with everybody, but I guess certain phone numbers have changed and I haven't received calls from a lot of people." Elsewhere in One Direction land, the remaining four have taken a break from their, well, break, to lend their voices for an episode of Family Guy, that not only see the boys transformed into cartoon versions of themselves, but also sees them reunite with music mogul Simon Cowell. "There are not a lot of shows that, in the same season, feature guest-star appearances by both Frank Sinatra Jr and One Direction," producers Richard Appel and Steve Callaghan told Entertainment Weekly. The episode - called Run, Chris, Run - is expected to premiere on Fox in the US in May.
