Jonathan Saunders has resigned as Chief Creative Officer of Diane Von Furstenberg’s eponymous brand, his departure effective immediately, it was announced today. The news comes little over a year since he originally joined the business, back in May 2016.

In a statement Jonathan said: “I am grateful for Diane’s support and for the opportunity of guiding this iconic brand. I am so proud of everything we have accomplished in the past 18 months. I thank the incredible team for their dedication and support, and will continue to be a friend and admirer of the brand.”

Diane Von Furstenberg thanked Jonathan Saunders in a separate statement, paying homage to his work at the business. “I am so thankful for Jonathan’s beautiful work and the effort and dedication he has put into DVF in the last 18 months. He will leave an important and lasting heritage to the brand,” she said.

DVF is also currently missing a Chief Executive following the resignation of Paolo Riva last November, Business of Fashion reports. During Jonathan Saunders’ time at the brand, DVF saw a complete overhaul of creative strategy. The Scottish designer changed the logo, store concept, website and even its shopping bags. His last collection for DVF was presented earlier this month.
