m.i.a and generation enlist 36,000 kung fu kids for new video
Kids from the biggest fighting school for children in China perform in a new video from M.I.A and Gener8ion, aka Surkin.
Since 2013's Y.A.L.A video, produced by i-D, we haven't seen much in the way of music videos from M.I.A. Having teamed up with GENER8TION, aka Surkin, for his new Bromance-released EP, The New International Sound (Part.II)', the EP's title track receives a video directed by Inigo Westmeier and executive produced by M.I.A's creative of choice Roman Gavras, who directed her controversial video for Born Free.
M.I.A. and GENER8ION don't feature in the video; instead the short features the 36,000 students of Shaolin Tagou, the biggest fighting school for kids in China. The video's director, Westmeier, previously made a documentary following three students trying to make their name in the world of Kung Fu fighting, and this video is an adaptation of that story.
GENER8ION's EP is available now through Bromance Records.
