fka twigs' favourites cottweiler vow to stay weird as they join the newgen team
Just as the sun set over east London last night, we toasted its stars of tomorrow as the BFC and Topman announced which of the capital's countless emerging menswear talents will receive NEWGEN MEN support for spring/summer 16.
After catching the eye with their unofficial curtain closer of last season's London Collections: Men and causing an Insta stir with their recent collaborations with FKA Twigs, concept-led reality wear design duo Cottweiler were officially welcomed into the growing London menswear family. Having already amassed a fanatical fan base and international stockist list with their signature blur of casual and luxury whilst working working in the shadows of London Collections: Men, it's going to be exciting to see how they develop in its spotlight. "It's amazing to receive this support but we're going to use it to stay weird and do our own thing," Cottweiler's Ben Cottrell revealed with a smile. That's what NEWGEN MEN is all about. Nurturing the capital's weird and wonderful, brilliant and bizarre.
Alongside Cotteiler, Disney daydreamer Bobby Abley and gender blurring PIETER join the familiar faces of existing NEWGEN MEN recipients Agi & Sam, Alex Mullins, Astrid Andersen, CMMN SWDN, Craig Green, Diego Vanassibara, Kit Neale, Nasir Mazhar and Vidur announced at a party hosted by Grey Goose and Soho House. "NEWGEN MEN spring/summer 16 sees another exciting designer line up guaranteed to inspire us all with their fearless creativity and desire for change. I can't wait," Gordon Richardson, Creative Director of Topman buzzed. Neither can we. Roll on June.
