kanye west gets candid on new track with sampha
'I know I’m the most influential, that TIME cover was just confirmation. This generation’s closest thing to Einstein.'
This morning, the world awoke to find (despite claims that they "never never never" would) Kanye's Tidal-exclusive The Life of Pablo streaming on the likes of Spotify and Apple Music, as well as available for official download. In other equally as exciting news, "Saint Pablo," a confessional on Ye's money troubles and twitter rants has emerged via an unknown source. "I wrote 'Saint Pablo' after admitting to my greatest shame, my personal debt. But I'm not ashamed anymore." Yeezy tweeted of the track last week having performed it at Yo Gotti's LA release party for The Art of Hustle.
Featuring vocals from Sampha, the Mike Dean-produced record opens with a spot of confrontation from Kim: "My wife said I can't say no to nobody and at this rate we're gonna both die broke. Got friends that ask me for money knowing I'm in debt and like my wife said I still didn't say no. People trying to say I'm going crazy on twitter… my friends' best advice was to stay low." We relate to his difficulty "deciphering all of the bills" and appreciate his honestly. "I just feel like I'm the only one not pretending." He continues. "I'm not out of control, I'm just not in their control."
