Multi-tiered cakes, princess dresses and balloon archways might be the usual paraphernalia for American teens' sweet sixteen birthday parties, but not for Lily-Rose Depp. Dressed in a Victoriana corset and pantaloons, Lily-Rose variously accessorized with a garland of garlic around her neck, shackles and a fencing sword.

Her friends also dressed up in Victoriana costumes, or more baroque party wear, and posed for pictures inside an iron maiden (a torture box with spikes on the inside) or knelt with their heads in a guillotine. It was all captured in a series of selfies posted across the group's Instagram accounts, and of course many of Lily-Rose's 383,000 followers wished the teen HBD in the comments.

Lily-Rose Depp only made her official public debut at the end of March, at the Chanel Métiers D'Art show in New York, but she is already a bona fide internet celebrity thanks to her A-list parentage, angelic face and very active Instagram account. She hasn't given a single full interview yet, but that looks set to change soon: she will be promoting her upcoming film Planetarium with Natalie Portman, a 1930s supernatural drama about two sisters who can speak to the dead.
