emma watson shows style can come with substance
The actress wins the public-voted British Style award at last night’s British Fashion Council event.
Emma Watson beat off stiff competition in the form of Kate Moss, Keira Knightley, David Beckham, Benedict Cumberbatch and Amal Clooney to scoop the British Style award last night, and made multiple million girls jealous when she accepted the award from 1D stud Harry Styles.
The public voted in their droves for the 24-year-old, and much as it's because she carries off Dior, Givenchy and Erdem so well on the red carpet, she also shows us that style is as much about how you act as it is about how you dress. The Harry Potter and Noah actress has avoided wild child excess, instead focusing on important issues such as gender equality, which she stood up for at the UN when she spoke about the HeForShe campaign.
Watson, who wore a Misha Nonoo white jumpsuit, Dior coat and Louboutin shoes, teamed with an Anya Hindmarch "England's Glory" matchbox bag, thanked her stylist Sarah Slutsky, then went on to say, "The British fashion industry has been supportive of my career and allowed me to reinvent myself. I love British fashion."
