Hey! Remember lovable Manchester producer and DJ, Mr. Scruff? Remember his 1999 Ninja Tune release Get a Move On that sampled Moondog and got played everywhere all the time? Remember the Whalefish Song and how it made you and your friends smile? Remember how he also sold tea at festivals via his side project Make Us a Brew? These days he's got a tea shop next to Manchester Cathedral and when he's not busy sipping tea, he still goes out and about on DJ duties.

Next weekend Mr. Scruff will be heading east to play Lost Village festival in sunny Lincolnshire for the first time, alongside the likes of De La Soul, Nina Kraviz and Moderat, and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to ask him to make us a mix. Over email today he promised us "a winding journey through different areas of the festival, spending 10-15 minutes at one stage before moving on to another". In other words, the ultimate festival-going experience. "It's got a mysterious intro too," he added. Having enjoyed it extensively at i-D HQ this afternoon, we can confirm it starts out very mysterious indeed, before descending into a funky dance party... ideally taking place within an ancient wood… much like Lost Village itself. See you there maybe?
