San Francisco-based Rippy Austin just got back from a life-changing trip to Tokyo. Always keen to capture more than just vacation snaps, the rapper and producer shot a video for new single "Ghost." With lyrics about -- you guessed it -- encounters with spirits, the track is taken from his forthcoming album, Progress. "Ghosts are something my people and I have always been curious about, so I decided to make a song on the subject," he explains. "I produced and wrote the record, and had my homie Robert Casey lay live bass. I invite you to vibe through the streets of Japan with me as I illustrate a mythical world."

With layers of warm cinematic production and a flow like Kendrick, we're looking forward to the rest of the record. As a follow-up to his Journey LP, Progress will map his musical evolution. "I feel everyone on this earth has a journey and we just have to embrace it and enjoy every step along the way. I live by the words journey and progression."
