Fabric, the iconic London nightclub, will be closing its doors for the weekend as a result of two drug related deaths which have occurred in the past nine weeks. The club will be shut to allow an investigation into the separate deaths, one of an 18-year-old man who died in hospital after falling ill at the club in June and the second which occurred on Saturday, when an another 18-year-old collapsed outside the club and sadly passed away 40 minutes later.

"In order to understand how this has happened we have agreed with the police and other agencies to suspend our operation while we investigate," the club explained on its website. "The club will therefore be closed this weekend." Adding that a further statement will be made next week, and all tickets bought for this weekend will be refunded.

These are the first incidents to happen in the past two years, although the club has been under increasing pressure by the police and Islington council over the past three years over drug related incidents, almost being forced to permanently close in December 2014.
