tyler, the creator cancels uk and ireland shows
After canceling his Australian dates due to feminist backlash, the former OF frontman has pulled out of his UK dates, too.
Tyler, the Creator took to Twitter last night to announce that he has had to cancel a number of shows in the UK and Ireland, just one day before the first gig. While it is not absolutely clear whether or not all shows have been cancelled or postponed, it's not looking promising.
"DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES I WONT BE PLAYING READING, LEEDS, BELFEST [sic] AND OTHER SHOWS IN THE UK. SUCKS AND IM SORRY. I LOVE YOU, SAVE THE HORSES -T," Tyler tweeted last night, adding this morning that, "THE CANCELING OF THE SHOWS ARE BEYOND MY CONTROL. AGAIN, IM NOT THE TYPE TO CANCEL SHOWS. ONLY WHEN ITS LEGIT NOT POSSIBLE, SORRY AGAIN =(".
No word on what theses circumstances are, but the cancelled gigs include tonight's show in Belfast, tomorrow's in Dublin and both Reading and Leeds festivals. Earlier in the year, Tyler cancelled his Australian tour after a feminist group campaigned to have his visa denied due to some of his violent, misogynistic lyrics. Tyler appeared to cancel the tour while officials were still deliberating over whether to grant or deny the visa.
