Ten years after he opened his first women's boutique in London, footwear maestro Giuseppe Zanotti has opened one for the city's men. The sleek, two-floor store at 27 Lowndes Street in Belgravia is only his second worldwide men's boutique (the first was in Milan) and offers the whole range of his styles. "This is a new adventure," Zanotti told i-D at the opening. "I'm happy because I've followed London fashion for a long time. It's a great result. I'm so proud."

Zanotti said in recent years he's noticed a marked changed in men's attitudes to shoes, namely that they're having fun with them. And he's happily handing the adventurous men things to have fun with: gold trainers, metal plating, giant straps and chains. "The new fashion icons are the sneakers, " he says. "My work is not only sneakers - I also have a fantastic tuxedo evening loafer and other styles - but sneakers are the new thing. It's not sport, it's not adidas: the sneakers are full of ideas, energy, emotion and vibration." The store will also offer a wide selection of shoes, bags, ready-to-wear and accessories.
