Sometimes it really pays to meet your heroes.

No matter how big they get, everyone's hero has their own special hero too. Take Tyler the Creator, the enfant terrible who inspired a generation of kids to get together with friends and make all the great songs they weren't hearing on the radio. Tyler's made it well known that when he was in those shoes, it was Pharrell inspiring him. Last year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Neptune alum's debut In My Mind, Tyler shared an open letter to the artist: "I NEVER HAD BROTHERS,UNCLES OR MY FATHER AROUND SO THANK YOU FOR BEING THE MALE FIGURE I GRAVITATED TO. ALLOWING ME TO EMBRACE BEING DIFFERENT AND TRUSTING MY IDEAS."

Thanks to a little clip that appeared on Pharrell's Snapchat yesterday, we now know the hero-turned-friend has been in the studio with Tyler. Last time the pair worked on a tune together was 2015, on Keep Da O's which appeared on Tyler's record Cherry Bomb.

Whether they're at work on a Tyler track, or there's something new from Pharrell in the pipeline remains to be seen (or rather, heard). Oddly enough, they were joined by former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello — perhaps the trio have some ideas. Tyler and Pharrell are both partial to a pop crossover (consider their work with Kali Uchis and Britney Spears respectively) so it's not too far outside the realm of possibility. In any case, here's hoping another track is on the way!
