Burberry just released their new festive campaign
To the tune of Deee-Lite’s ‘What Is Love?’
Riccardo Tisci is rounding-off a landmark year at Burberry with a new festive campaign celebrating the many different personalities in its universe. Following his 110 look-strong offering back in September for SS20 -- a beige and grey collection of elegant, street-friendly fits modelled by Kendall, Gigi and a seldom seen Agyness -- this new campaign splits itself between the brand’s more casj and more formal pieces.
Assembling a global cast of different models and brand ambassadors, the images, shot by Mert and Marcus, celebrate “the notion of togetherness, union, hope and love.”
“This for me is the real spirit of the season,” Riccardo said in a statement. “It’s one of my favourite times of the year – when I can stop, reflect and reconnect with those who make me feel happy and at home, no matter where I am in the world.”
The cast includes OG supermodel Carla Bruni, i-D cover star Sasha Pivovarova and Yorkshire favourite Fran Summers as well as brand ambassadors Zhou Dongyu and Yoo Ah-in, Mahmood, Ikram Abdi Omar, Lea T, Boychild, Wu Tsang, Cecilia Chancellor, Marina Morena and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. “I loved the idea of bringing together a group of people that have been so supportive of me since I joined Burberry to celebrate my first holiday campaign for the house,” Riccardo said.
The accompanying video sees the whole ragtag gang dancing to Deee-Lite’s “What Is Love?” Not exactly a Christmas classic, but a big tune nonetheless.
