Featuring red lipstick, rhinestones, and some major earring moments, the trailer for Selena: The Series has finally been delivered unto us. Blessed be the Netflix YouTube channel. Coming to the streaming platform on December 4, the biographical adaptation of Selena Quintanilla’s life promises to tell the astonishing story of “a young girl from Texas with big dreams and an even bigger voice.”

“The two-part coming-of-age drama Selena: The Series explores the once-in-a-generation performer's journey as a young artist,” reads a statement from Netflix, “from singing small gigs in Corpus Christi with her family to becoming one of the most successful Latinx artists of all time -- and the years of grit and sacrifice the Quintanilla family navigated together before Selena's meteoric rise to fame."

Following a chic black and white teaser earlier this month, the new trailer offers a sneak peek into the show’s first season, which offers a deeper look into the creative processes at work during the start of Selena’s career, as well as intimate insight into the relationships within her family.

“Selena will always have a lasting place in music history and we feel great responsibility to do justice to her memory,” said Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister and one of the show’s co-producers. “With this series, viewers will finally get the full history of Selena, our family, and the impact she has had on all of our lives.”
